It was recently announced that Suniel Shetty would be making a film on the drug menace in the country. However, the reason why Suniel is taking personal interest in the film (title RAVE) is that he is pained with the way some young actors in Bollywood are resorting to unhealthy means in order to get a well built body. When he himself started off a couple of decades ago, having a great body was an exception. However, today the scenario has changed with every young actor going for a beefy look.
For someone who has been a crusader of healthy life style for ages now, Suniel says, 'Look at some of the younger actors. Many of them are doing good but quite a few are also taking steroids to build their body. What they don't know is that it won't be much time before they will burn out. It is very important to have a good body which has been naturally worked upon rather than enhanced due to drugs and also supported elements.'
He is all for a great body though provided all the healthy means are adopted to get into shape.
'It is fantastic to see a change in approach when it comes to actors being conscious of how they look on screen,' says Shetty, 'In fact compared to us, these kids are far more focused in every aspect, whether it is acting or looks. The new breed may not have a fantastic physique but quite a few are lean, youth and energetic. Ranbir is a good example of that. What a brilliant actor.'
When it comes to sheer acting, Suniel also doesn't hesitate in pointing out Prateik. 'I am really very fond of this boy," he lights up here, 'There is a lot of spark in him. With youth on his side, he indeed is showing a lot of good promise. He will go a long way for sure.'
