This Friday, Emraan Hashmi would be seen in yet another solo release of his - CROOK. Though he has revelled in doing mostly solo films over the years, he made an exception with ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI which incidentally also stays as his only film that has crossed 50 crores at the box office.
"I was waiting for a time when I move on to the next level and there is no denying the fact that ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI has enabled that. It's a really nice feeling because for an exceptional subject like this, we gave everything to it. Everyone worked their tail off to ensure that after underworld films like DEEWAR, SATYA, COMPANY and VAASTAV, we form our own niche," says Emraan who is now looking forward to the release of CROOK.
In a way, the success of the film also justified his decision of working in only select multi starrers. Now that his stocks have gone up by a few notches after the film, does Emraan plan to pick more multi starrers in months to come? What's his plan of action from here?
"To answer your first question, then yes, the film's success did justify my decision of being overtly selective when it came to picking up multi starrers. Having said that, I haven't suddenly made any plans now to pick up more multi starrers. There is no point doing every two-hero film that comes my way. I will continue to be selective as before," reaffirms Emraan.
Till then, expect the young star to be seen in his annual solo starrer in a Bhatt production.
No more multi starrer for Emraan
