Mallika Sherawat has been keeping a very low profile recently. Once rated amongst the most confident actresses, especially after WELCOME, things have gone pretty sour with her solo films crashing like a pack of cards.
However it appears that all this is about to change for the better as her upcoming October 22 release, HISSS, is a movie to watch out for. Directed and written by Jennifer Lynch, the movie, as can be judged from its title, is a thriller about a snake seeking vengeance.
Without a doubt the genre of the film is such that it has the capacity to attract the audience (especially in the interiors and mid-size towns), who have a strong belief in the 'naag-naagin' stories. People even worship snakes and there are many stories surrounding the myth of snakes seeking vengeance. Sridevi and her 'naagin' act and dance in NAGINA are still a favourite and the audience goes for repeat viewing, such is the charm and mystery surrounding these stories.
The special effects in HISSS are quite top class and so is actor Irrfan Khan, who looks in his elements. And the song promo featuring the sultry Mallika surely makes HISSS a probable winner.
