"The fact is that our personalities are very similar and this is the reason why we get along so very well", says Kalki when questioned if Anurag's sensibility is brushing on her that makes her aspire to carve a niche for herself, "We both carry the sensibility of wanting to be passionate about our work. Anything that we do for screen has to come for a good reason. When I act, it just can't be only for fun."
Talking about DEV D, the film has managed a cult status for itself in home video, especially amongst youth. Are the accolades still coming in for Kalki?
"Yes, they are still coming in. Having said that let me be honest in stating that there was never a huge downpour of compliments to begin with. DEV D wasn't an overnight hit and as you rightly mention, the film's elevation to cult status only took place gradually over a period of time", states Kalki in a matter of fact tone.
Well, with her next release THE FILM EMOTIONAL ATYACHAAR all set to release next month, one waits to see if there is a cult following waiting to happen yet again for Kalki. With an ensemble cast of Vinay Pathak, Ranvir Shorey, Mohit Alawat and Ravi Kissen, one does expect a unique tale in the offing here for sure!
