Kolkota based actor Subrat Dutta is pretty excited about this forthcoming film, MADHOLAL KEEP WALKING. He's playing a common man in the film, which has already won a lot of international acclaim at various film festivals.
Says Subrat, "Madholal is a common man. He can be you or me. He is a very simple person who lives in Mumbai. It's a film about how a person comes out from a tragedy. It's about a person who doesn't have any financial back-up but still manages to get along with life after a tragedy."
He further added, "We should all keep walking. Anything can happen in life. This is what the film professes. It is based on the 7/11 Mumbai train blasts."
Subrat admits that the film isn't a typical mainstream film. "Ours is not a so-called 'mainstream Bollywood film'. But Bollywood is going through a metamorphosis. There are many good films being made like BHEJA FRY, TERE BIN LADEN etc, which is great. We have put in a lot of effort in this film," he says with conviction.
Subrat also bagged the best actor award at the Cairo Film Festival. "I have played this role with a lot of responsibility. Getting the best actor award at the Cairo Film Festival was very humbling. It's good to know that people have liked our film," he says modestly.
